Bluewaters Island: Dubai's Mediterranean Corner
Bluewaters Island opened in 2018 as the anchor development around Ain Dubai — at the time announced as the world's largest and tallest observation wheel. The island was designed from scratch as an integrated destination, with a retail and dining promenade, two luxury hotels (Caesars Palace and Caesars Bluewaters), and a carefully curated selection of beach and leisure experiences.
Cove Beach arrived as the island's signature beach club concept, bringing a design language that owes more to Santorini and Mykonos than to Dubai — white surfaces, cobalt blue accents, and an atmosphere that peaks between 2pm and 7pm as the day crowd gives way to the sunset crowd. The Ain Dubai wheel in the background has become one of the most distinctive beach club backdrops in the city.
Combining Bluewaters with JBR
The pedestrian bridge connecting Bluewaters Island to the JBR waterfront is one of Dubai's great beach-day hacks. A typical day might involve arriving at Cove Beach at noon for sun loungers and lunch, then walking 10 minutes over the bridge to JBR for late afternoon drinks at Barasti, a stroll along The Walk at sunset, and dinner in the JBR restaurant strip. Both areas are distinct enough to offer genuine variety within the same outing.
Best Time to Visit
Bluewaters is best visited in the cooler months (November to April). Cove Beach is particularly atmospheric on Friday afternoons and evenings, when it transitions from a daytime beach club to a sunset and after-dark venue. Caesars Palace pool is busiest on weekends — book ahead. Weekday mornings offer the most relaxed atmosphere and best sun lounger availability at both venues.
