A Slice of the South Pacific on Palm Jumeirah

Sofitel Dubai The Palm is one of the most recognisable resorts on Palm Jumeirah — a sprawling Polynesian-themed beachfront property on the quieter East Crescent, anchored by lush tropical gardens, three distinctive swimming pools and 500 metres of private white-sand beach facing the open Arabian Gulf. For day-pass guests, it offers a rare combination in Dubai: resort-grade facilities, genuinely family-friendly pricing, and an atmosphere that feels far more Bora Bora than Business Bay.

The design language is unmistakable. Onyx, stone and dark exotic wood are threaded through the public spaces, tiki torches line the pathways at sunset, and every cabana is built from palm thatch and natural timber. The main pool sits at the heart of the resort with a swim-up bar and shaded daybeds, while a second adult pool offers a quieter lounging zone and a dedicated children's splash pool with a small slide keeps younger guests occupied for hours. A fourth leisure pool sits closer to the villa wing for deeper seclusion on busier days.

The beach itself is one of the softest white-sand stretches on Palm Jumeirah — long, gently sloping, and lined with rows of padded sunbeds under palm-leaf umbrellas. Because the resort faces the open sea rather than a lagoon, the water tends to be cleaner and cooler than the bayside Palm beaches, and the horizon is uninterrupted: just gulf, sky and the occasional superyacht drifting past. Non-motorised water sports are available on site, and the resort runs its own shaded beach volleyball court.

At AED 250 on weekdays this is arguably the best-value full-resort day pass on Palm Jumeirah — you're paying less than at most standalone beach clubs while accessing a 5-star infrastructure that includes twelve restaurants and bars, a proper luxury spa, and a kids club. On weekends and holidays prices climb to AED 400, still well short of the ultra-premium clubs nearby. See all Palm Jumeirah venues →

Food & Beverage

Dining at Sofitel The Palm

Few Palm Jumeirah day passes give you twelve restaurants and bars to move between, but Sofitel Dubai The Palm does exactly that. Your food and beverage credit is valid across all outlets — from the poolside bar to the award-winning signature restaurants — which makes it genuinely flexible compared to single-venue beach clubs where every dirham must be spent at one bar.

Porterhouse, the resort's steakhouse, is a standout for a long lunch or an early dinner, while Morimoto's pan-Asian cuisine sits at the more refined end of the spectrum. For a relaxed afternoon by the pool, Olea serves Mediterranean mezze and grilled fish on a shaded terrace. The Tiki Bar, right on the beach, is the heart of the sunset scene — cocktails arrive in pineapples, reggae drifts over the sound system, and the horizon does the work.

All-day snack and drink service runs pool-side from 08:00 to sunset, with a shortened menu of burgers, sandwiches, salads, smoothies and cocktails delivered straight to your sunbed. Children have their own menu at most outlets, and the resort is generally accommodating for dietary requirements — notify them at booking.

🍹 Signature Drink: Polynesian Mai Tai at Tiki Bar
🍽️ Must-Try Dish: Morimoto black cod or Porterhouse wagyu
🥂 Brunch: Friday Voyage Brunch, AED 325–475
💰 F&B Credit: Valid across all 12 outlets

Where to Spend Your Credit

Tiki Bar (beach)
Tropical cocktails, sharing platters, live DJ weekends — your default pool-to-beach stop
Olea (poolside)
Mediterranean — hummus, grilled octopus, sea bass, salads. Best for long lunches
Porterhouse
Steakhouse — wagyu, prime rib, truffle sides. Strong for a celebratory dinner
Morimoto / Hong Loong
Pan-Asian and Chinese — for the quality end of your credit

What to Know Before You Go

👗

Dress Code

Swimwear is fine around the pools and beach. Cover-ups and footwear are required when moving between pool and restaurant areas. Smart casual for Porterhouse and Morimoto in the evening — no flip-flops, no wet swimwear at indoor tables.

📅

Reservations

Booking ahead is strongly recommended for Fridays, Saturdays and UAE public holidays, when pool passes cap out by mid-morning. Weekday visits can often accommodate walk-ins, but a reserved sunbed makes the experience noticeably easier.

Cancellation Policy

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before arrival on most standard passes. Cabanas and group bookings typically require 48–72 hours notice for a full refund. Weather-based cancellations are handled case-by-case by the resort.

🚗

Getting There

Drive via Sheikh Zayed Road onto Palm Jumeirah Monorail Road, then continue east along the East Crescent — GPS "Sofitel Dubai The Palm". Free self-parking and valet available. Approximately 25 minutes from Downtown Dubai, 35 minutes from DXB airport, 20 minutes from Dubai Marina.

👶

Age Policy & Kids

Fully family-friendly. Children of all ages welcome throughout the day. Sofikids club accepts ages 4–12 with supervised activities (extra fee). Kids pool has a shallow area and a small slide. Dedicated child pricing on all weekend and weekday passes.

📱

What to Bring

Sunscreen (SPF 50+), sunglasses, a hat for the beach, a light cover-up, and comfortable sandals. Towels are provided. For children, bring a change of clothes and swim aids if needed. Cash is useful for tipping beach staff who consistently deliver strong service.

"Spent a weekday at the Sofitel with our two kids and it was genuinely the best day we've had on Palm Jumeirah. The staff at the kids pool were amazing, the beach is huge, and the Polynesian vibe makes it feel like a proper holiday rather than just a beach club. Incredible value for AED 250."

Hannah T. — March 2026
★★★★★

"We used our F&B credit at Porterhouse for lunch and it was restaurant-level quality, not beach-club quality. Three pools to choose from, the adult pool was quiet enough for a real book day, and the beach was pristine. One of the best kept secrets on the Palm."

Marco L. — February 2026
★★★★

"Loved the atmosphere and the Polynesian theme — it's clearly different from other Palm hotels. Slight deduction because the pools can get busy on weekends and some sunbeds are in partial shade by mid-afternoon. Arrive before 11am for the best spots."
