Every June a quiet migration happens along the Dubai coast. Some beach clubs slash prices and lean into the heat, while others lock the gates, drain the pools and call in the builders. Here is the definitive list of who is closed for summer 2026 and exactly when they reopen, plus where you can still get a sunbed this August for AED 100.

Dates below are as announced by the venues on 18 July 2026. Reopening dates in Dubai have a habit of moving by a week or two, so if your trip depends on one, call the venue before you book anything that cannot be refunded.

02The closures that actually matter
AURA Skypool: back on 1 September, and it will sell out
The world's highest 360° infinity pool closed in June for a renovation and has confirmed 1 September 2026 as its reopening date. If AURA is the reason you are flying in, treat the first three or four weekends of September as sold out before they open: sunrise and sunset slots go first. Our complete AURA visitor guide covers which slot is worth the premium.
Cloud 22: the makeover nobody has a date for
Atlantis The Royal's rooftop showpiece has been dark since late February for a full makeover, returning "for the new season", which in Dubai language means autumn, though no date has been published. Watch our Cloud 22 page; we will update it the moment the venue confirms.
Drift: the last one out the door
Drift held out longer than almost any seasonal venue, running summer ladies' offers from AED 150 before finally closing on 12 July. It has not published a return date, but its pattern is reliably late September to early October. The One&Only concierge will confirm by phone before booking opens online.
Barasti and SAL: gone until 2027
Two closures at opposite ends of the market, both for the long haul. Barasti, Dubai's beloved barefoot beach bar for 30 years, poured its last drink on 21 June and is being rebuilt from the sand up, with redesigned zones and an expanded food and drink offering promised for 2027. SAL, the luxury terrace at the Burj Al Arab, is also under works with a 2027 return expected. Neither will take bookings this winter.
Verde Beach: a quiet goodbye?
Verde Beach at Jumeirah Beach Hotel is reported closed with no reopening announced. Until the operator says otherwise we are treating it as indefinitely dark; its French Riviera niche is meanwhile well covered by the new J1 Beach strip.
03Still open all summer (and cheaper than ever)
Summer is secretly the best value season on the coast. The clubs that stay open drop entry hard and make most of it redeemable against food and drink:
- Cove Beach (JBR and Bluewaters): AED 100 weekdays, AED 150 weekends, fully redeemable
- Nikki Beach (Pearl Jumeirah): AED 200 weekdays, from AED 250 weekends
- Beach by FIVE (FIVE Palm): from AED 100 weekdays, fully redeemable
- O Beach (Habtoor Grand): packages from AED 100 including drinks
- Wet Deck (W Dubai, The Palm): AED 150 daily, fully redeemable
- SAN Beach (Palm West Beach): AED 200, fully redeemable
- Kyma (Palm West Beach): AED 275, fully redeemable weekdays, quiet and adults only
- Nammos (Four Seasons): AED 300, fully redeemable, if summer must still be luxury
- Playa Pacha (FIVE LUXE): free entry Monday to Thursday
- J1 Beach strip: Sirene by GAIA, Gigi Rigolatto and Baoli, all running summer rates
Every venue above runs indoor and outdoor service, chilled pools and misting; go early (before 11am) or late (after 4pm) and August is genuinely pleasant. Full price tiers are in our budget guide.
The reopening rush is real.
The flagship rooftops and pools (AURA Skypool, Cloud 22, Address Beach Resort) routinely sell out 30 to 60 days in advance once reopening dates land, especially for weekends, sunset slots and the winter peak. And one trick regulars know: if a date shows sold out online, call the venue directly. Phone reservations often release availability the website does not show. 04Quick answers
When do Dubai beach clubs reopen after summer?
Most seasonal venues return between September and October as the heat breaks. In 2026: AURA Skypool on 1 September (confirmed); Summersalt, Be Beach and Kinugawa expected through September; Casa Amor in October; Drift traditionally late September to early October. Barasti and SAL are under extended works until 2027.
Is AURA Skypool open right now?
No. It closed in June 2026 for renovation and reopens 1 September 2026. Book the first weeks well ahead; sunrise and sunset sessions go first.
Why do beach clubs close in summer?
From June to September highs top 40°C and the Gulf turns as warm as a bath, so outdoor demand collapses. Operators either close (often using the window for renovations) or pivot to cheap, fully redeemable summer entry and heavy shade.
Which beach clubs are open in August 2026?
Cove Beach, Nikki Beach, Beach by FIVE, O Beach, Wet Deck, SAN Beach, Kyma, Nammos, Playa Pacha and the J1 Beach venues all stay open, most from AED 100 to 300 with entry redeemable on food and drink.
When does Barasti reopen?
Barasti closed 21 June 2026 after 30 years for a complete rebuild and is expected back in 2027 with redesigned zones and a bigger food and drink offering.
Dates compiled from venue announcements and Dubai press coverage (What's On, Time Out Dubai, Gulf Buzz, The National), verified 18 July 2026. Reopening dates are the operators' own and can change; always confirm with the venue before booking travel. Spotted a change? Tell us and we will update this page.
