How we review, edit, and correct.

BeachClubDXB is an independent editorial product. This page explains exactly how we research venues, who writes what, how we handle errors, and where commercial relationships begin and end. If you find anything that contradicts this policy, we want to hear about it.

The five principles we work from

Everything on this page follows from these five commitments. They are not aspirational — they are testable. If we fail one, the correct response is to fix the article and publish a correction.

01 · Independence

No venue pays for coverage

Venues cannot buy a listing, a higher rating, a review, or a position in a comparison. We do not accept "sponsored reviews." If a venue ever asks and we decline, that does not affect future coverage either way.

02 · First-hand visits

Every featured venue is visited

Every venue with a dedicated profile page has been visited by a member of our editorial team at least once in the past 18 months. Re-visits happen on a 12-month cycle, or sooner if the venue changes ownership, menu, or pricing.

03 · Source-checked facts

Two sources or it's not a fact

Opening hours, prices, dress codes, age policies, and minimum spend are verified via (a) the venue's own published material and (b) a second source — either a phone call, an on-site observation, or a cross-check against a booking platform — before publishing.

04 · Corrections in public

We fix errors and say so

When we're wrong, we correct the article in place and add a dated correction note at the bottom. We do not silently delete paragraphs. Material factual errors are summarised in our monthly newsletter.

05 · Disclosed relationships

We declare what we earn from

Booking-inquiry forms route to participating venues. When we send a reader, we may earn a referral fee. This is disclosed in our Privacy Policy and on the pages where it applies. It does not influence ratings.

Who writes, edits, and signs off

Editorial team

All venue profiles, comparison articles, and pillar guides are commissioned, edited, and fact-checked by the BeachClubDXB editorial team. Our head editor is Fredrik Filipsson, who is accountable for every article published on this site.

Contributors

We occasionally commission external contributors with direct Dubai hospitality experience — former venue managers, long-standing residents, travel journalists. Contributors are paid a flat fee. They do not receive payment from any venue they cover, and we disclose contributor credits on the article byline.

Sign-off

No article is published without (a) a first draft by a named author, (b) a factual review by a second editor against the source checklist, and (c) a final sign-off by the head editor. The author, edit date, and next review date are stored in our CMS and shown on the article's metadata.

AI assistance and disclosure

We use large language models (LLMs) for research acceleration, outline generation, and first-draft scaffolding. We do not publish AI-generated text as-is. Every sentence that reaches our site has been read, edited, and fact-checked by a human editor. Where AI helped draft a section, the final human author takes full responsibility for accuracy and tone. We do not use AI to fabricate quotes, generate fake reviews, or invent pricing.

Sources we rely on

We treat the following as primary sources and cite them where relevant:

  • On-location visits by our editorial team (notes, photos, receipts).
  • Direct communication with venue general managers, PR contacts, or reservations teams.
  • The venue's own published rate card, menu, and booking terms.
  • Government or regulator publications (Dubai Tourism, DCT Abu Dhabi, RTA).

We treat the following as secondary sources used to cross-check, never as the sole basis for a factual claim:

  • Verified Google Business Profile and TripAdvisor listings.
  • Established UAE media (Time Out Dubai, What's On, The National, Gulf News).
  • Guest reviews in aggregate (never a single review in isolation).

We do not treat paid PR, influencer posts, or uncredited social-media screenshots as verification for anything that affects a rating.

Updates, expiry, and review cycles

How often we refresh content

Pricing, opening hours, dress code, and minimum spend on every flagship venue profile are reviewed at least quarterly. Category pages, area guides, and pillar articles are reviewed at least every six months. Seasonal guides (e.g. "beach clubs in July Dubai") are refreshed before the relevant season.

The "Last reviewed" stamp

Every article carries a "Last reviewed" date. If you see an article whose date is more than 12 months old, please email us — it usually means the scheduled review slipped.

Retired content

When a venue closes, we keep the page live with a "Closed — last verified [date]" notice and link readers to comparable alternatives. We do not silently delete pages, because deleting them removes useful historical context and breaks inbound links.

Corrections policy

If we publish something that is factually wrong — whether pricing, hours, a misspelled venue name, a misattributed quote, or a miscounted cabana — we want to know, and we want to fix it quickly.

How we handle corrections

Minor factual corrections (a price that changed, a typo in a venue's address) are fixed in place with a dated note at the bottom of the article. Material corrections (a wrong rating, a miscredited comparison winner, a misstated policy) are fixed in place, flagged at the top of the article for 30 days, and summarised in our next newsletter.

How to flag something

Email info@redresscompliance.com with the article URL and what you believe is incorrect. We aim to respond within two working days and resolve within five.

Right of reply

If you are a venue operator and believe our coverage misrepresents your business, you have a right of reply. Send us your specific objection in writing. If your objection is factually valid, we correct. If your objection is about the editorial judgement of our reviewer — for example, a score we gave — we will consider it, explain our reasoning, and update only if we find a factual basis to do so.

Conflicts of interest

What we disclose

Any editorial team member who has worked for, consulted for, or holds equity in a Dubai hospitality business is recused from covering that business. We maintain an internal register of these relationships and our head editor reviews it before commissioning.

Hosted visits

We occasionally accept hosted visits (complimentary day passes) so the team can experience the venue in realistic conditions. When a hosted visit informs an article, the article says so. A hosted visit does not create any obligation to publish, to publish positively, or to avoid negative commentary.

Affiliate and referral economics

Where BeachClubDXB earns a referral fee from a booking, this is disclosed. Our ratings are never adjusted to favour higher-commission venues, and our commercial team has no editorial authority.

User-generated content

Reviews, comments, and other reader submissions are moderated. We remove content that is defamatory, discriminatory, commercially motivated, personally identifying a staff member, or clearly inauthentic. Moderation decisions are made by our editorial team, not by the venue under review. We do not allow venues to "buy out" negative reviews.
