Which Dubai beach club is right for your day? Detailed scoring, pricing, and editor's verdict.
Surf Club Dubai and Drift Beach are Dubai's two heavyweight refined-luxury beach clubs — both food-led, both with serious kitchens, both targeting the couples-and-special-occasion demographic. Surf Club is the most-awarded Palm West Beach venue (Josper oven, sushi counter, premium canopy beds). Drift Beach is the long-running One&Only Royal Mirage venue with 1km private beach and mature Moorish gardens.
Both venues sit on the Palm Jumeirah / Al Sufouh stretch about 5 km apart. The decision between them is fundamentally about heritage versus modern execution — Drift's 1999-built One&Only setting versus Surf Club's newer awards-decorated infrastructure.

Drift Beach's One&Only Royal Mirage setting (1999, mature Moorish gardens, established palms, manicured grounds) is genuinely irreplaceable. The 1km private beach is one of Dubai's longest. Surf Club's newer infrastructure is excellent but lacks the heritage. For mature-luxury setting, Drift wins decisively.
Surf Club is the most-awarded beach club in Dubai's annual hospitality circuits — Time Out, What's On, FACT all repeatedly recognise the venue. Drift has the longer pedigree and consistently strong reviews but doesn't compete on the awards-decorated metric.
Surf Club's AED 200 weekday entry (AED 150 redeemable) is meaningfully more accessible than Drift's AED 300 weekday. Both venues are at the top of Dubai's luxury beach club tier. Surf Club is the more accessible entry point.
Drift Beach's kitchen has the OG-luxury credibility — among Dubai's best beach club kitchens for over a decade with an exceptional wine programme. Surf Club is competing seriously and the Josper oven plus sushi counter run at near-Drift level. For pure kitchen quality, Drift narrowly leads.
5 km apart on Palm/Al Sufouh coast — feasible double-header. Saturday lunch at Surf Club (AED 200 weekday, modern Mediterranean + sushi + Josper). Sunday at Drift Beach (mature gardens, 1km private beach, brunch). Two distinctly different luxury executions. Total per person across both: AED 1,000–1,500.
Drift Beach edges Surf Club 9.3 to 8.9 overall — the One&Only Royal Mirage heritage, the mature gardens, the 1km private beach, and the OG-luxury kitchen pedigree give it the higher overall score. Surf Club wins on value, awards recognition, and modern infrastructure. For OG-luxury heritage couples, Drift. For accessible-tier modern luxury at Palm West, Surf Club. Both are at the top of Dubai's refined beach club tier.
