Two of Dubai's finest luxury beach clubs, separated by 30 minutes on the Sheikh Zayed Road. One is Moorish minimalism, the other is Roman grandeur. Which should you choose?
Drift Beach is nestled within the One&Only Royal Mirage — a breathtaking Moorish palace hotel in Al Sufouh that occupies a stretch of private beach between the JBR and Palm Jumeirah. It is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful beach settings in the entire Middle East. The hotel was designed as an architectural statement, and that aesthetic extends completely to the beach — arched colonnades, hand-laid stonework, palm gardens, and an intimate beach that feels genuinely removed from Dubai's urban intensity.
Cove Beach at Caesars Palace Bluewaters occupies a completely different visual vocabulary — Roman-inspired architecture, carved stone columns, a large curved pool terrace, and a beautiful stretch of private beach with perhaps the most dramatic views of any beach club in Dubai: Ain Dubai (the world's largest observation wheel) standing directly behind the venue, with the JBR skyline visible across the water.

Drift Beach is marginally more expensive than Cove Beach across most pricing categories — reflecting the premium positioning of the One&Only brand. The difference is not dramatic (typically AED 50–100 per person), but it compounds over a full day of F&B spending. Both venues are firmly in the luxury tier.
This is where the two venues diverge most meaningfully. Drift Beach cultivates an atmosphere of deliberate refinement — the music is curated (not loud), the crowd tends to be slightly older and well-travelled, and the pace is unhurried. It is, categorically, one of Dubai's most romantic beach settings. Couples and those seeking genuine escape from the city's energy will feel immediately at home.
Cove Beach strikes a different but equally compelling note — more vibrant, more social, more designed for a mixed group who want to look out at one of the world's great city views while nursing an exceptional cocktail. The Roman architecture and Ain Dubai backdrop create a sense of spectacle that Drift's more intimate Moorish garden doesn't pursue. For groups and social occasions, Cove Beach's larger scale and more outward-facing energy works better.
Both venues operate at the highest tier of Dubai beach club F&B. Drift Beach's kitchen takes inspiration from Mediterranean and Middle Eastern traditions — fresh, beautiful, and carefully executed. The signature Drift cocktail programme is restrained but expert. Drift's restaurant extends to a full evening dining operation that some consider the most romantic outdoor dinner setting in Dubai.
Cove Beach's Mediterranean menu is also exceptional — leaning heavily into fresh seafood, antipasti, and shareable mezze designed for groups. The cocktail programme is creative and extensive. Both venues' wines-by-the-glass programmes are strong for beach club settings.
Drift Beach's private stretch is one of Dubai's finest in terms of sand quality, cleanliness, and natural beauty — flanked by the hotel's palm garden on one side and open Gulf on the other. The beach is long enough to feel private even on busy days. The pool is a beautiful horizon-edge design. Changing facilities are hotel-standard.
Cove Beach's beach is excellent though slightly narrower than Drift's — the Bluewaters location constrains it geographically. The pool, however, is arguably more impressive — a large, curved Roman-inspired basin surrounded by tiered terraces that creates a sense of theatre. The Ain Dubai views from the pool terrace are simply unmatched in Dubai.
Both Drift Beach and Cove Beach are among the finest beach clubs in Dubai — and this comparison is genuinely close. The right choice depends entirely on what you're looking for.
You want Dubai's most romantically beautiful beach setting. If you're celebrating an anniversary, want a genuinely private experience, or value exceptional service over social spectacle, Drift is unmatched. It's also the superior dinner venue — the evening transformation of the space is remarkable. Best for couples and small groups prioritising quality and intimacy.
You want drama, views, and a more social atmosphere. The Ain Dubai backdrop, the Roman architecture, and the energy of the Bluewaters Island setting create a spectacle that Drift doesn't pursue. Better for larger groups, those staying nearby in JBR, and visitors who want the convenience of tram access and the JBR retail district nearby. Also slightly better value at most price points.
